Breastplate for Making Decisions

December 14, 2010

What an amazing last four months! It is truly unbelievable to see the Christmas season before us - and we find ourselves in a completely unforeseen and unexpected place both physically, spiritually, financially, and emotionally.

On the ministry front, Grace Abounds Ministries is in full-time partnership with Ripple of One - check them out at rippleofone.org. My speaking engagements for Grace Abounds are soon to begin -starting with "Our Daily Rest" ministries in downtown Seneca. They always need speakers - so its a great place to start. Our fundraiser "Pass the Purse" is well underway and tagged for the date of April 22nd. All of you will get Save the Date information. Our specific prayer was to at least get the event space donated, and a business partner of mine that owns Dome Restaurants, Inc. (Boulevard Grill in Clemson) has agreed to let us have his Occasions space (http://www.occasionsatwedgefield.com)
or a couple of other options here local. Such an answered prayer!

On the business front - at a real crossroads as I start up Unsworth Marketing. Tomorrow I finalize financial plan and the sales forecast for 2011 with the Area Vice President for Economic Development. On Friday I present to investors. This is serious. I realize I can not do Aflac and this at the same time - b/c they both deserve 40 hours a week to be successful - and I refuse to have my family slide to second place - after all that is why I made a career change in the first place. So - I am really struggling with making decisions with all of these opportunities to juggle - and this week is dedicated to the importance of making decisions -and getting into God's word about how we know we are following Him when we make decisions.

Here are passages that validate the importance of making decisions, decisiveness, and knowing God's vision for us is primary.
  1. Exodus 28:15
The Breastpiece ] “Fashion a breastpiece for making decisions—the work of skilled hands. Make it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.

  2. Exodus 28:29

  3. Exodus 28:30
Also put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron’s heart whenever he enters the presence of the LORD. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the LORD.

  7. 2 Samuel 15:2
He would get up early and stand by the side of the road leading to the city gate. Whenever anyone came with a complaint to be placed before the king for a decision, Absalom would call out to him, “What town are you from?” He would answer, “Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel.”

  8. Ezra 5:17
